Hey Reader I've never told anyone this story. And if you think you're "too old" or "not technical enough"... This one's for you. Here's a confession: I haven't written a single line of code in 11 months. Not one. And yet I build apps every single day. Let me explain. The BackstoryI started learning to code when I was 13. Windows 95. C++ and Pascal (dinosaur languages today). For 20 years I loved it. Made good money. Built a career. Then I started watching kids do in 2 hours what took me a full day. They were faster. Hungrier. No mortgages or back pain. I couldn't compete anymore. So I quit my job. The Dark YearsFor the next few years, I was completely lost. Wasted entire days playing World of Warcraft. (Judge me if you want, but I got 12 characters to max level.) Tried launching businesses. Failed. Tried again. Failed again. Wasted tens of thousands of dollars trying to become a YouTuber. Nothing worked. I felt like a dinosaur pretending to be relevant. Then AI Changed EverythingOne day, a friend sent me a random app called Replit. (He's reading this, guaranteed. You know who you are.) I thought it was BS. But I couldn't stop playing with it. For the first time in years, building felt fun again. Not "grind through Google for 6 hours" fun. Actually fun. Like when I was 13. AI had leveled the playing field. I didn't need to compete with 22-year-old developers anymore. I didn't need to remember syntax or chase the latest framework. I just needed to know what to build and why. And that's when it hit me: My 20 years of experience wasn't a liability. It was my unfair advantage. Where I Am NowI'm now 40 years old. I build apps almost every single day, and I love it so much that I feel like I'm 20 again. I have hundreds of blueprint students who I help every day. And here's the biggest lesson I've learned last year. Teaching this stuff to professionals and business owners like you? That's where I make the biggest impact. Because you already know which problems are worth solving. You've seen what works and what doesn't. Your decades of experience are not a liability. They're a superpower. You're starting from experience that 20-year-olds simply don't have. What This Means For YouHere are three lessons I want you to take away from my story.
So if you're sitting on an app idea... If you've spent months (or years) stuck... If you feel like the window has passed you by... It hasn't. Not yet. And if a burnt-out 40-year-old who wasted years on World of Warcraft can figure this out... So can you. I believe in you! P.S. Thank you for being here. Seriously. You're the reason I get to do this every day. 🙏 |
Coder of 20+ years teaching non-technical people how to build their own software business in 30 days with AI. No devs or code required.
Hey Reader, Just made it to Thailand, and while drinking my first coconut... 🥥 I saw someone on X asking how to set up AI coding tools for non-technical people. Funny enough, I currently teach my wife how to build her first app without writing any code. And this simple trick helped her do it. One simple paragraph. That's it. My wife Diana testing her iOS app on her iPhone 17 Pro Max The Simple Trick I keep telling my Blueprint students ALL the time to use this. It just works so well that I...
Hey Reader, It's been two months since I updated the list, so let's quickly take a look at what's new. A little context: it has been significantly simplified. I really only use GPT-5.3 Codex High and Extra High (Fast if in Cursor) for almost everything. It requires you to be a little more aware of your prompting and your goals, and to ask the right questions. But it is the smartest AI model, and it is not even close. There's a huge shift in the industry right now, with people switching away...
Hey Reader, Last week I built a mobile app, a Mac desktop app, and a web app. From scratch. I still can't believe I'm typing this. But it happened. And it was WAY easier than any developer will ever admit. Here's what I built and what I learned. #1 - MacroPulse (Web App) I had this old project gathering dust. A daily financial tracker that gives you one "pulse" every day about what's happening in the markets. No doom-scrolling. No anxiety. Just the essentials. But the old version was a mess....
