Even Cursor devs don't code anymore 😂

Reader,

I did something crazy this week.

I built a macOS app from scratch.

Doesn't sound that wild until I tell you:

  • I've never built a macOS app before.
  • I've never written a single line of Swift (that's Apple's programming language).
  • I've never even touched an Apple developer account.

And yet…

79 minutes later, it was done.

This is NoteMac, a text editor for Mac (because I was tired of the included one).

It's not "sorta working", it's actually... done. Shipped.

This reminded me of one of my students, Hugh.

Hugh's Story

Hugh used to work in agriculture.

Literally hanging out on farms, managing farmers, surrounded by livestock and his kids.

Then life happened. Family stuff changed everything.

But Hugh realized something powerful.

The business skills he'd built over 20 years?

They translate perfectly to this AI revolution.

So he became what I call a no-code software architect.

Someone who truly understands how to build application.

Without writing a single line of code.

Now he's helping Australian dentists find new patients.

He built a full SaaS and a lead magnet to go with it.

What's Really Happening

Even the guys at Cursor and Claude Code say they write less code every day.

Lee Robinson (Cursor) just published a video talking about this.

Boris Cherny (creator of Claude Code)... same thing.

He said every change he's made in the last 30 days was done WITH Claude Code.

They're building Cursor And Claude Code with... AI.

Do you see what's happening?

You're Not Ready

The future isn't coming. It's already here.

And yet…

Every single day, you tell yourself:

"I'm not technical enough."
"This is too complicated."
"I can't do this."

I'm going to be brutally honest with you.

If you keep waiting…

If you keep telling yourself these stories…

2026 will leave you behind.

Big change is coming.

Think of it like a wave.

You can either get swept away by it…

Or you can surf it into the future. 🏄‍♂️

No More Excuses

Yes, I have 20+ years of coding experience.

But it barely helped me build that macOS app.

I had zero knowledge of Swift.
Zero knowledge of Apple's developer system.
Zero knowledge of how any of it worked.

And I still shipped in 79 minutes.

If I can do it, you can too.

With all that said...

Happy New Year.

I hope you had a great holiday season.

Now it's time to stop waiting.

P.S. This app experiment has truly opened my eyes. Never before was I more convinced that traditional engineering is dead, and the future belongs to founders, business professionals, and product-first humans → Start Building Today

Hey Reader, Just made it to Thailand, and while drinking my first coconut... 🥥 I saw someone on X asking how to set up AI coding tools for non-technical people. Funny enough, I currently teach my wife how to build her first app without writing any code. And this simple trick helped her do it. One simple paragraph. That's it. My wife Diana testing her iOS app on her iPhone 17 Pro Max The Simple Trick I keep telling my Blueprint students ALL the time to use this. It just works so well that I...

Hey Reader, It's been two months since I updated the list, so let's quickly take a look at what's new. A little context: it has been significantly simplified. I really only use GPT-5.3 Codex High and Extra High (Fast if in Cursor) for almost everything. It requires you to be a little more aware of your prompting and your goals, and to ask the right questions. But it is the smartest AI model, and it is not even close. There's a huge shift in the industry right now, with people switching away...

Hey Reader, Last week I built a mobile app, a Mac desktop app, and a web app. From scratch. I still can't believe I'm typing this. But it happened. And it was WAY easier than any developer will ever admit. Here's what I built and what I learned. #1 - MacroPulse (Web App) I had this old project gathering dust. A daily financial tracker that gives you one "pulse" every day about what's happening in the markets. No doom-scrolling. No anxiety. Just the essentials. But the old version was a mess....
