This AI guru just scammed my friend

Hey Reader,

Imagine paying thousands of dollars to an "AI expert" to build something for you.

And then they deliver... absolutely nothing.

That is exactly what happened to a good friend of mine.

He hired a "reputable" AI expert to automate his agency's design workflow.

They were promised automatic design-to-code conversions, a full system, the works.

This would cost thousands of dollars and take a few weeks.

I really wish he had talked to me before signing.

But he didn't. He only called me a few weeks in.

I told him straight up that the technology he was promised does not exist yet.

But I was hoping for the best.

Then, the deliverable arrived.

I am not joking.

Thousands of dollars and weeks of waiting for... a Loom video?

A basic automation workflow, and instructions for a software that costs even more money on top.

The Loom video was just a guy talking about his workflow.

A literal YouTube tutorial of how to use VSCode and Claude Code.

That is it. That is the whole deliverable.

Was he serious? I mean, it was April 1st, but this actually happened.

This is not a horror story.

This is a random Wednesday in 2026.

Why I am telling you this.

Anyone who has watched a few YouTube tutorials can now call themselves an AI expert.

They charge real money. They deliver absolutely nothing real.

But the biggest problem today is not who to hire.

It is convincing yourself that YOU can do it instead.

Most founders I talk to still think they need someone else to build for them.

They think this is too technical. Too complex. Too far outside their lane.

They are wrong.

Think like an architect.

An architect never lays a single brick.

They couldn't wire an outlet if their life depended on it.

But they know exactly how the building works, and they know how things connect.

They own every square inch of the final property.

That is what building with AI looks like for you.

The AI writes the code.
You direct the process.
You own the outcome.

That is not theory. That is what non-tech founders inside my program do every single day.

Coaches. Consultants. Business owners who never wrote a line of code in their lives.

Shipping real apps in weeks.

Not by learning to code.

But by learning to think like an architect.

What's next.

In April, I am launching a very limited case-study group.

This will be a one-time event, for existing businesses only, that solves one specific problem for you with AI.

10 spots. That is it.

Keep an eye on these emails. Spots will go fast.

Talk next week,
Rob

P.S. Know someone sitting on a big idea while their developer quote keeps growing? Forward this to them. It might save them thousands of dollars and a very frustrating few weeks.

Hey Reader, Anthropic just announced free monthly API credits for all Claude subscribers! 🎉 Sounds great, right? Well, let's read the fine print... The catch nobody's talking about. Starting June 15th, third-party tools like Conductor can no longer tap into your Claude subscription directly. Instead, they will now pull from those shiny new API credits. But here's the thing. If you're on the $100/month Max plan, you get $100 in API credits. Claude Opus 4.7 will chew through that in a few...

Hey Reader, This is not our regular scheduled programming. If you're old enough to remember the ILOVEYOU virus from 2000s, this will feel familiar. Back then, one email worm hit 10% of every computer connected to the internet. It caused $10 billion in damage. All because people clicked one email attachment. That was 26 years ago, and this week it's kinda happening again. The new virus doesn't need you to click. A group just compromised hundreds of packages across coding ecosystem. Think of...

Hey Reader, It's May 2026. People keep asking what I'm actually using to ship apps right now. Not what's trending on X. Not what some sponsored influencer says. What's in MY toolkit, every single day. So here's the full stack. Steal it. Cursor is the cleanest coder out there. The v3 release is genuinely insane. Best AI coding tool I've ever used. Best overall design and UX. But my Cursor usage exceeds $2-3k/mo and it's not cheap. In fact, the last 30 days were particularly heavy... I use it...
